We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 15:11 NLT

This powerful message reminds us of the incredible gift we have received, purely out of God’s grace. Let’s delve deeper into this concept and explore its significance in our lives.

Just as the Bowerbird meticulously crafts an exquisite nest to impress its potential mate, we often find ourselves engrossed in our own desires and aspirations. Like the bird, we may become so focused on our own pursuits that we inadvertently start comparing ourselves to others. We might even find ourselves envying their apparent successes or blessings, questioning whether they truly deserve such a fortunate life.

However, this mindset resembles that of the Bowerbird, who not only concentrates on himself but also becomes a vandal, destroying the nests of others to draw attention to his own. Likewise, when we obsess over our own achievements and harbor thoughts of superiority or resentment towards others, we inadvertently belittle and harm those around us.

Instead, we must shift our perspective and recognize that the blessings and accomplishments of others are gifts from God (Ecclesiastes 3:13; James 1:17). God desires to bless us abundantly, but we must adopt the right attitude—an attitude of “undeserved grace.” Our lives should be adorned with humility and grace, enabling us to celebrate God’s goodness in the lives of others.

Let us always remember that we ourselves were saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8). Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to extend that same grace to others. Rather than tearing others down through judgment or envy, we should love and serve them unconditionally, rejoicing in God’s blessings alongside them. By doing so, we create a life adorned with grace—a life that reflects the heart of God.

In conclusion, Acts 15:11 NLT reminds us of the profound truth that our salvation comes solely through the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus. Just as the Bowerbird’s nest exemplifies its efforts to impress, let us redirect our focus from ourselves and embrace an attitude of grace. By celebrating God’s goodness in the lives of others and loving them unconditionally, we live out a life adorned with grace—a life that mirrors the grace bestowed upon us.
