1 Samuel 15:10 New Living Translation (NLT)

Then the Lord said to Samuel, “I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has not been loyal to me and has refused to obey my command.” Samuel was so deeply moved when he heard this that he cried out to the Lord all night.

When you are nonchalant about the future, it epitomises you wandering in a desert without realising that you are standing on the border line of a tropical paradise. Vision changes your outlook on life and it becomes a vignette that aspire others. You need to plan ahead and see where you are going in the next year, or even years (Prov 4:26 NLT & 1 Cor 9:24-26 NLT), it must be intentional.

I cannot help to wonder if Saul ever had a vision, because if he did he would have obeyed God’s instructions and his kingdom would have been established (1 Sam 13:13 NLT). How you get there depends on your approach and obedience. If you are doing things to satisfy your ego’s ambitions, you are going nowhere fast. It is easy to make the wrong decisions but it is tough to make the right decisions in life. Indecision has a debilitating effect on you. You only corrupt your soul by making decisions which you know you shouldn’t have made in the first place.

Sometimes you can feel how the storms of life bears down on you. That’s where we have to make decisive moves. Make your first move swiftly into your room and get alone in the presence of God (Matt 6:6 NLT). It is the only way you will remain rooted in these turbulent times. When your ego and busyness gets in the way, you can easily lose your way. Be tuned into the same frequency of God, he is gentle, peaceful and loving. As soon as you have heard from God, have the courage to do what you have heard Him speak through His Word.

Sometimes the answer to our problems has been whispering in your heart for a long time but you weren’t ready to let go off some shakeable matters in your life. It is only the unshakable things that will remain in God’s Kingdom (Heb 12:27 NLT) and this was the test that Saul failed as a king. So it all boils down to choices, we either become bitter or better. The latter is guarenteed when we abide in His Word.
