Psalms 131:1-3 KJV

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

I recently watched an inspirational ad from Absa Bank about the story of Gaynor Young. She was an actress and before she started telling her story, she stopped and thanked God for this beautiful day and continued. She always wanted to become an actress and at the age of 28 her dreams became a reality. She had a leading role at the State Theatre, and whilst she was on stage, she took a wrong step and fell 5 stories down an unguarded lift shaft unto the concrete floor below.

She broke both her arms and legs and broke every single bone in her face. The doctors said she is going to be unable to do anything put her into an institution, and then she said something that moved my heart, “I didn’t listen to them because I was deaf”, and she chuckled. She continued saying “I who have died am alive again today”. She learned how to walk and speak again, feeling like a person and not a burden to others.

As I was listening to this story I wondered how many of us are concerning ourselves with matters that doesn’t make sense or that only God can resolve for us because there is simply nothing else you can do to make things better or to overcome. And even though you haven’t fallen down a lift shaft like Gaynor Young, in your heart you have broken every bone of hope.

Leave matters before the feet of Jesus, always be thankful and remain still before God when there are storms in your life. Don’t listen to any lies, He will take you to the other side and then when the storm cleares up, you will understand and even chuckle about it because you came out stronger than ever before.

Don’t ever loose your hope and always be thankful.
