Colossians 4:5 MSG
Use your heads as you live and work among outsiders. Don’t miss a trick. Make the most of every opportunity.
Participation is one of the most important connections that God has created for His people. It unlocks new opportunities which aligns you with God’s salvation plan, and He wants everyone to take part in it.
Just like a solar eclipse—when the moon passes between the sun and the earth and it blocks the sun—in the same way, God is orchestrating new opportunities in your life that will glorify His name. But it is said, a solar eclipse happens only twice a year on average, so be sober-minded (1 Pet 5:8)—be wide awake—move quickly because you don’t want to miss out on these divine opportunities that God has orchestrated for you. And you do this by aligning your life with His Word.
Also remember that the sun is 400 times larger in diameter than the moon and when there is an eclipse it seems like the moon and sun is the same size, but it is only the distance of the sun which is further from the earth that gives it that illusion. Don’t forget that Jesus is giving you space to use your gifts and abilities as these opportunities unfolds in your life, but when God is elevating you, don’t ever think, “I’ve got it made. I’m God’s favorite.” (Ps 30:6 MSG), that would be a deceitful illusion.
Keep Jesus at the centre of your life and honor Him by giving Him all the glory that He so rightfully deserves.
