THE WORD OF GOD SAYS
We need the Holy Spirit to help us with discernment so that we can learn;
• How to avoid distractions and overcome fear and intimidation
• How to live a worthy live of dignity and honor that are holy and pleasing unto the Lord
• How to conduct ourselves as Christ’s representatives
• How to live in a way that will lead others away from the lies and deception of the enemy
In order for us to do this we need to be aware of the schemes, strategies, and lies of the enemy. Let’s look at what the Word of God says;

Here are 8x strategies that the enemy use as tactics to deceive us, but you can resist and stand your ground by using God’s Word as your weapon:
PLAYING THE GAME OF JUST TALKING
Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.
James 1:26-27 MSG
A PARTNER IN EVIL WORK
If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.
2 John 1:10-11 NLT
DO REGULAR CHECKUPS—TEST EVERYTHING TO SEE IF IT IS ALIGNED WITH GOD’S WORD
Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it. I hope the test won’t show that we have failed. But if it comes to that, we’d rather the test showed our failure than yours. We’re rooting for the truth to win out in you. We couldn’t possibly do otherwise. We don’t just put up with our limitations; we celebrate them, and then go on to celebrate every strength, every triumph of the truth in you. We pray hard that it will all come together in your lives.

SHUT THEM UP!
For there are a lot of rebels out there, full of loose, confusing, and deceiving talk. Those who were brought up religious and ought to know better are the worst. They’ve got to be shut up. They’re disrupting entire families with their teaching, and all for the sake of a fast buck. One of their own prophets said it best: The Cretans are liars from the womb, barking dogs, lazy bellies. He certainly spoke the truth. Get on them right away. Stop that diseased talk of Jewish make-believe and made-up rules so they can recover a robust faith. Everything is clean to the clean-minded; nothing is clean to dirty-minded unbelievers. They leave their dirty fingerprints on every thought and act. They say they know God, but their actions speak louder than their words. They’re real creeps, disobedient good-for-nothings.
1 Titus 1:10-16 MSG
PUT THEM THROUGH THE TEST
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1 NIV
WATCH OUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE FORCING RELIGIOUS LAWS ON YOU!
Now, in these last sentences, I want to emphasize in the bold scrawls of my personal handwriting the immense importance of what I have written to you. These people who are attempting to force the ways of circumcision on you have only one motive: They want an easy way to look good before others, lacking the courage to live by a faith that shares Christ’s suffering and death. All their talk about the law is gas. They themselves don’t keep the law! And they are highly selective in the laws they do observe. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast of their success in recruiting you to their side. That is contemptible!
Galatians 6:11-13 MSG
HYPOCRITES ARE THOSE WHO ARE PARTIALLY FOLLOWING THE LAW—IT’S ALL GRACE OR ALL LAW, BUT IT CAN’T BE BOTH
Jesus said, “I did one miraculous thing a few months ago, and you’re still standing around getting all upset, wondering what I’m up to. Moses prescribed circumcision—originally it came not from Moses but from his ancestors—and so you circumcise a man, dealing with one part of his body, even if it’s the Sabbath. You do this in order to preserve one item in the Law of Moses. So why are you upset with me because I made a man’s whole body well on the Sabbath? Don’t be hypercritical; use your head—and heart!—to discern what is right, to test what is authentically right.”

SIMPLY REPENT AND ADMIT YOUR MISTAKES
If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. If we claim that we’ve never sinned, we out-and-out contradict God—make a liar out of him. A claim like that only shows off our ignorance of God.

THE ENEMY WORKS HARD TO DISCOURAGE YOU

I, Paul, tried over and over to get back, but Satan stymied us each time.

Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
